For any of you reading these comments here -believe every word ! We spent 4 days at Macatoo in October and without question they made for the best holiday we have ever experienced in our lives. Do you love horses? There is no better place in the world to ride. Interested in wildlife? There is no better way to see it. Enjoy meeting interesting people? The staff are truly ***, the other guests while we were there a pleasure to be with. Love great food? They have it - every day and every night. The horses are beautiful and so obviously loved by the fantastic crew looking after them. Bongwe- what can I say? Your knowledge,your passion and your spirit really sum up what we love about Botswana and about Africa. Your patience and your kindness touched us both deeply. Thank you so much. Both of us cried as we drove away, and we were planning our return trip even before we got around the first corner. All I can say to anybody considering this is don't wait, DO IT -you will NEVER forget it!

The most incredible experience imaginable, it still brings tears to my eyes to think of my holiday at Macatoo. Thank you SO much to everyone who made it happen (particularly Gerry & Motsugi), I won't forget you. Sekongo, look after my friend Phuduhudu for me and tell him I miss him. When he's ready to retire I have his ticket to England ready!
For those who are reading this and wondering whether to try this holiday...DO IT!!! It's worth every penny and then some. Take out a mortgage if you have to!

It was literally life changing - fantastcal!!! Thank you John. You are brilliantly fun to be with and we all love you. Your staff is equally fabulous from tea ladies, chefs, guides, stable staff, administration all absolutely fabulous making it all seem so effortless. All of us would love to come again and be cared for by your fabulous staff, eat like queens, dance like no one is looking, sit around the fire talking story and practicing animal sounds and, of course, mostly to ride on back of an extraordinary horse with the wild animals on the wings of freedom in the Okavango. Juni 2010: seit Menschengedenken war der Wasserstand im Delta nicht mehr so hoch. Das bedeutete tiefe Flußdurchquerungen und nasse, wilde Galoppaden. Das waren aber auch atemberaubende Tierbeobachtungen, Flucht vor einer Elefantekuh, Büffelherden, Giraffen, Kudus,nächtlicher Löwenbesuch, Leopardenattacken auf Paviane und "Sir Henry" ein mächtiger Elefant der uns beim Dinner zugesehen hat. Dabei war jedes Dinner ein Traum: wunderbar stilvoll angerichtet und mit Liebe und Geschmack zubereitet. It is hard to know where to start and what to say because when you have had the best holiday of 62 years there is so much to think of and be grateful for. In every sense of the word it was truly memorable. From the moment we touched down at Cement airstrip until we left you at Maun we were made to feel that we were the only thing that mattered. All your staff, without exception were first class hosts. None of us have ever spent a ten day period during which we laughed so much. Please pass on our deep felt and sincere thanks to each and every one of them for the parts they all played. Once again please tell all especially Kim, Bongwe, Douglas, Sekongo, Mod, Mary, Matthew and James how much we appreciated the time we spent with them

We preciously keep in mind every moment and every people, every canter and every dinner... Every glass and every discussion. This was so far, a moment of its kind that makes your life different after it. Accept our most sincere gratitude and extend it to your staff: Life is better after you!

I need to thank you, Kim, Masuge, Bongwe, the rest of your staff, (as well as your sloe gin! ) for such a wonderful time at Macatoo Camp. Your staff are superb and your meals were excellent. Even though I did not ride I don't feel that I missed out on the unique experience of the Delta and the flood plains. I plan on returning same time next year with some other mates who are very keen on coming

Have never ever forgotten my 2 wonderfull visits to the most perfect Safari ever .I am now looking to come again , just want to make sure I experience the bush and the riding again before too old !!!

A decade later, I still consider this one of my most amazing life experiences. Everyone else talks about how special the rides are---and they are superb. But what sets AHS apart is the top quality of the staff. Highly trained, good in a crisis, relaxed and friendly always. I can't wait for my 5-year old daughter to grow up so I can bring her along on another trip. Please ride here so they'll be around until then and beyond!!!

Best horse safari ever!

I did this ride 3 years ago, and since then, did many other horse back ridings. I must say, this ride is the best of all, for the riding experience, the perfect organisation, the amazing landscape... and wild animal life. Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about... Highly recommended for riders, do not miss it!

What an amazing experience! I cant wait to do it all over again ! I shall definitely be back sometime - hopefully this year... and this time i will take Loxley home with me :)

Dear John, Glen, Sekongo, Bongwe, Mod and all the others. Had my safari in November 2009 and still would like to come back anytime, will do anyway somewhere this year. I have been going to the website time and again, to look at the pictures. What I would love to see on the site is a "photo gallery" of all the horses, maybe with a short description as you had in the book in the guest tents. I would love to take a look again at all of the different horses I rode and loved. But maybe too big a project ? A very well 2010 for all of you, Sandra

I appreciated not only the professionalism but also the kindness of the whole team. The horses are brave, the environment is pleasant, the rhythm of the day perfect and the food and wine very good. Everything I had hoped for and a lot more. I have waited years for this experience and have loved every moment. So many laughs, such lovely people - especially Bongwe.
